About Me

imageI first studied massage with Carl Childress at New Life Therapeutics in Pontiac, Michigan in 1988.  I did massage part time, while continuing to work full time as an RN at Huron Valley Hospital in Milford, Michigan.  After moving back to Iowa in 1993, I took time off to raise my two sons, and care for other family members with health issues.

In 2006, I returned to massage school at Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Stone City, Iowa.  Upon graduating I started my own massage business located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Today I am in with Synergy Massage.

Since 2006, I have taken weekend seminars by Doug Nelson on PNR,  Michael Young on Repetitive Use Injury Therapy, Bob Haase on Secrets of Deep Tissue Massage, Erik Dalton on Myoskeletal Alignment, and Lawrence Woods on Neural Reset Therapy® . image

As of 10/27/2014 I am Master Certified in Neural Reset Therapy®.

I continue to keep my Registered Nurse license active and have taken several classes that are informative for both nursing and massage.

During 2008-2009 I did contract massage work for Body Therapy at the University of Iowa, working with the womens track team.

I also go out to several local Assisted Living Centers and Nursing Homes to do massage.

I have two sons.  Josh, the older one is in grad school studying Integrated Biology at the University of Iowa.  Chris, the younger one,   graduated in May 2014 with a Trumpet Performance degree from the University of Iowa. He then went to  Mount Mercy University and received his BSN in Nursing and is working in the Medical ICU at the University of Iowa Hospital. He continues to play trumpet and piano any chance he gets around the area, and is getting his Doctorate in Nurse Practice from Mt. Mercy University.

My husband of 34 years, Joel, is retired from both Hewlett-Packard and IBM.  He teaches kickboxing and resistance training at Farrell's Extreme Bodyshaping to stay in shape.  He is also taking classes in the health field.
